Q: Are we getting back pay at all for the change in compensation?
A: The Pay Scale adjustments are effective from the effective date of said adjustment, in the case of Across-the-board (ATB) increases. There is no retroactive adjustment in this package, though the Union did fight as hard as we could in the way of compensation. We believe that crew deserve better compensation, but we were also dealing with challenging economic times, and with that in mind, the Tentative Agreement presented, we believe, is the best thing we could have achieved in this round of negotiations.
Q: Who or what is going to be calculating MDPC? Will crew pay still be doing all of these calculations on excel or will there be a software?
A: The Company will use a new software for calculations, as they do for the pilots.
Q: The agreement says 50% credit for training modules, based on the times for each course. Does the typical annual training amount cover more/higher than the 0 hours we currently get?
A: Currently they pay 9 hours, which represents 18 real time hours. If the estimated times of e-studies in any given year is higher, they reconcile pay for each Member in April of the following year.
Q: Will part-time CCMS now be able to pick up open time and get paid at the premium rate, regardless of their monthly credit count at time of pick up?
A: That is correct.
Q: How will operational pairings be reconciled with respect to pay? Would RIGs apply? Would it be 4.5 hours per day as it is now?
A: The MPDC is 4 hours per day. Rigs apply as well as extension pay if applicable.
Q: In the event of pay triggers such as extension pay, will these triggers be automatically applied, or will it be up to CCMs or CMs to send reports for these pay triggers to be applied?
A: The CM on the widebody would fill in the form for the crew and the Lead on the 737 for that day will do the form for the crew.
