A pilot told me that WestJet was currently shopping for a new seniority based bidding system that would apply to both pilots and ccm groups (Yay!). I’ve heard this a few times recently and wonder if there’s any truth to it?

CUPE 4070 has grieved our current seniority scheduling system and continues working with the Company for a resolution.  The pilot group is currently in the middle of bargaining their contract, which means their entire contract is open for bargaining.  Once they finish bargaining, they will vote to ratify their contract.  We are not privy to details of their bargaining, as bargaining is confidential. 
 
 
I heard that the sick program went against Canada Labour Code laws and therefore did not apply to us anymore. I just want to know if this means I don’t need to provide a note unless asked within the ten days or if I should abide by the program?
