A day of reflection is upon us.  September 30th is known as “Orange Shirt Day” and for the first time is a statutory holiday known as a National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

Online there are many ways to buy an orange shirt, unfortunately, they are not all Indigenous ran organizations, nor do they donate any proceeded to the Orange Shirt Society. We have provided 3 links to Indigenous organizations below.

If you buy through an organization other than the ones listed above, please check to make sure it is Indigenous-owned and operated or that they are an ally organization that is donating proceeds to help Residential/Day School survivors and their families.

If you cannot buy an orange shirt, please wear something orange in solidarity with Residential/Day School Survivors and their families.

For our colleagues who are working on September 30th, you are welcome to wear an orange shirt pin on your uniform above your name tag.
