Voluntary Reserve Release Trial
 

Dear WestJet Members,  

CUPE and WestJet have signed a MOA to trial Voluntary Reserve Release.  The intention of this MOA is to allow for some degree of flexibility for our members who hold reserve. The Company has proposed a six (6) month trial program to allow Cabin Personnel to voluntarily request unpaid release from the last one (1), two (2), or three (3) Reserve Periods of a Reserve Block, subject to the Company’s operational requirements.  

The Cabin Personnel’s MMG will be reduced accordingly by the Credit Hours of the Reserve Period(s) removed.  

The trial is scheduled to run for 6 months (or if terminated earlier, 30 calendar day written notice must be provided – see the MOA).  The trial commences on May 9th, 2023
