MOA BETWEEN WESTJET AP, WESTJET ENCORE LTD. AND SWOOP INC.
Q: If you defer your secondary recall do you remain on the list?
A: If you are on a secondary recall list and defer your recall it will take you off the list - but it does not prevent you from reapplying to that list. It could take a couple months based on when the list is provided to the Company.
Q: If we choose to volunteer for secondary recall, I am aware that we go to Step 1 pay of our destination company. Once recalled to WestJet, do we keep that pay or go back to our step prior to furlough?
A: You retain and accrue seniority at WestJet for the time you are at your Destination Company. If you go to WestJet or Swoop for and a year, when you return to WestJet Encore you will progress to the next pay step and return to your position on the WestJet MSL.
Q: Will position for secondary recall at WestJet Encore and Swoop be granted according to the MSL?
A: The short answer is yes. If you are comparing someone else in your own airline, whoever has the earlier start date. For further clarification please watch the video.
Q: If you volunteer for the secondary recall list and are called to go to WestJet Encore or Swoop is your spot at WestJet Encore held for you?
A: Yes, you retain your spot on the recall list at your original company, for as long as you are on secondary recall at your destination company.
Q: If we go beyond our 5 year recall period, and are working at WestJet Encore or Swoop, will we still hold our positions with WestJet with seniority?
A: If you are on secondary recall, your recall will be extended by the length of service at the destination employer. You would retain your original seniority, and continue to accrue for any time spent working at the destination Company. Once recalled to your Original Company, your new Seniority would apply.
